I'm looking to get my track fairings painted on my 848, and I'm curious of what I should expect to pay for a two color job. They are hotbodies brand, so I'm not looking for a show piece. I'm located in north Alabama and looking for someone relatively close. I've seen several reviews about fast finish, but I can't seem to find any contact info. Thanks!

I paint as low as $275 several others online do it for $300....you're getting what you pay for. A basic track paint job with decent clear coat finish. It aint motogp skill level.

Not that you want to ship it but examples anyway

Or you can befriend a local painter at a shop and they do side work all the time. I had my wheels painted Corvette red for like 30 bucks. All I had to do was sand them down a bit. An hours worth of work and now I have shiny red wheels.

Some Napa stores will put it in spray cans for ya.... But I find the pros do so much better. Remember stickers cover a lot so don't get carried away with fancy paint schemes...

I painted my Ducati track fairings myself. I went to a local paint shop they matched the color extremely close to where you can't even tell. I paid 90 dollars for the paint and clear coat and I could have went even cheaper but I bought way too much paint I probably could do another two more sets of plastics. I went to harbour freight bought a cheap spray gun for my 20 gallon air compressor and masked off a room in the house and went to town. Came out pretty well for my first time imo. Pm me if you would like to see pics I can't get them to upload on the thread. My avatar has the track fairings on it compared to the tank.

I used ColorRite rattle can paint to match the stock paint, spent $170 and a full weekend of work in my garage. Not professional quality but IMO looks fairly good (shiny!). Only thing I would have done differently is paid somebody to clear coat with something stronger or use protective films in the areas that the fairings are being chipped down to the fiberglass.

Scott Moore won't paint Hot Bodies unless he changed his policy...... He is the best tho. Without a doubt.

Fassina, thanks for the heads up. Twobrotherbusa, if you don't mind me asking, what can I expect to pay for a job like that?

    ~

I'll back that up... Any painter that knows what they're doing won't touch Hot Bodies. I love that they're flexible and light, but I won't ever body another set for painting!

It is also rare to find a painter that will spray someone else's prep work. Maybe you'll do it well, maybe not, but often times a reputable painter will cost more because they will do all their own prep.

Typical new fairings out of the box that a painter can just scuff and prime will usually be $500 for a single color plus clear (multiple coats of each!). Yellow, Red, Metallics, and Pearls can cost significantly more than simple light colors.

I beg to differ.... I have had great results with Hotbodies recently... Maybe the Old Days Hotbiodies were bad.... But after 07-08 they are good...

    Hotbodies are never good. LOL

Andrew Swenson does great paint work also. He's usually in the $300-$400 range for a set. Very detail-oriented, which I like!
