I can guess the org he was riding with but it really does not matter at this point.

Meh…I can't keep quiet anymore :) This is my 2nd year of track days with STT. Ive crashed, I've broke down….and never had a problem. Gunshow Nick and the staff took care of me every time. Besides that, Some of my current friends that I hang out with on a regular basis….I owe to STT. Met ALOT of good people, damn proud to call some of them my friends. Im not sure what exactly happened that left a sour taste in your mouth, and I'm not sure if you are easily butthurt either. Regardless….good luck with your sale, but i think you already shot yourself in the foot, guy. Good day

It's only $400 bucks. I work at a steel factory and have a wife and baby to support and I still manage to go to about 20 trackdays a year (while paying the bills). Put in some overtime and forget about the $400 bucks. You are young; it's only money (far more important things in life - like friends). Quit being a P@##& and move on with your life. I have been going to trackdays for a while and I know many people from many trackday orgs. and you cannot group them into one group. Human nature is human nature and the people with NESBA, STT, X-Act, Track Tastics, Fast Track, etc… come from all walks of life. I hope this whole thread is some kind of joke that one of the staff is playing. LOL Now for my joke, “Steve, try your luck selling the spot over on the WERA FORUM.” That crowd is much friendlier!

Steve, I can sort of understand your stress being a 23 y/o college student who's out $400+. I remember being in college and that was a significant sum of money (even given inflation since 1999). I can also understand your unwillingness to come back to the track given the poor treatment you received from a pit-mate.

Here's the thing about STT and the customers who ride with STT...it's generally a very tight group of people who treat each other like family. The kind of family you like, not that crazy aunt who's been in jail a couple times for DUI and check fraud. Sure, like any other organization we sometimes get a bad apple, but the social dynamic of the STT regulars just sort of weeds those people out eventually.

Whether you took the credit or did the track day, that money was already spent. Keep that in mind. I'd urge you to take a little time to simmer down a bit, collect your thoughts, and really analyze what caused the accident. You really do have a great opportunity here to grow and learn, both as a member of the paddock and as an individual rider. Hold onto that credit, get your bike fixed, and come back out and give STT another try. You might need to take a little bit of humble pie, but adding some ice cream really helps that go down smoothly. ;)

(BTW no one who has been commenting here is paid by STT...we just all love STT and the 2nd family being part of STT has afforded us)

This is actually probably the most helpful and constructive response in the entire mess of a thread. Steve, I'm sure some of the other, rather combative, posts have put you on the defensive. I'd advise giving Swodi's a good hard read before you make a decision. I've not been in the game long, but STT has been truly awesome. I have zero experience with other organizations, and I'm very happy about that considering the treatment I've received. Most of these guys would give you the shirt off their back if you needed it.

The company owner and I discussed this today at Barber - I do believe we have a resolution.

I'll wait to see if he chimes in.

    All involved,

First of all I would like to thank all the customers and volunteers who took the time to try to straighten this out. You are a wonderful group of people and as so many already said, we truly are a family. I'm proud to be a part of it.

Second, I am in the position to be the most protective member of this family. I take that position VERY seriously. That being said, stevef: I do not want you or your tainted attitude for the "trackday community as a whole" on our tracks or in our paddock. Your willingness to escalate and attack our company so quickly off the track (and at our competitor's event no less) leads me to believe you could be a threat to our safety on the track. I will not and can not allow that.

Third, to defend our company policy. It is the best in the industry. We went above and beyond for you. We even offered your cash back less 15% when you first called. You never mentioned that to everyone, but you declined because you didn't like our admin fee. We then WERE going to give you FULL credit for missing one of our events even though you crashed at a competitor's event. This is UNHEARD OF and quite frankly not fair to our good customers who know and have read our policy before getting involved. Our policy (below) clearly states cancellations, changes, tip over, crash policy, and the most important one of all to read would be the Risk Awareness BEFORE getting involved. I have pasted them all below for a refresher or first time read?

In closing, you came into our house already jaded, and wiped your muddy feet all over our nice carpet. We extended a nice -unheard of- credit gesture, you then declined it publicly in a very rude fashion at the start of your thread. We then gave you some flack but let you continue to wipe your feet as you had your way on our forum. I now ask you to read the final line way down at the bottom of Risk Awareness.

I regret to inform you, that your credit has been removed (as you were not suppose to get one to begin with per company policy), your account has been closed, and you are no longer welcome at an STT event.

    Regards,
    Richard

    Cancelations & Order Changes
Cancelations and changes must be received in writing at least 30 days prior to the scheduled course date.
Upon receipt of this written notification, refunds will be given less a 15% administrative charge only if a cancellation request is received 30 days in advance in writing (email, fax or letter).
Cancelations made between 30 and 15 days prior to an event will be granted a credit for another track date useable for a period of one year from the canceled event (credits are tracked and can only be transferred one time).
No cancelations will be accepted 14 days or less prior to an event but you do have the option to sell or give away your spot.

    Give / Sell
Members may give or sell a track day to a member of the same skill group at any time.
STT must be notified of the give/sell via email no less than 48 hours prior to the event.
The person who you are giving or selling your spot to must be a current STT member.
STT memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Customers can post their spots for sale on the STT, WERA, or GSB Forums.

Tip Over and Mechanical Breakdown Protections ***Sportbike Track Time MEMBERS ONLY***
It happens, you have a brain-fart and as a result tip over or your bike breaks down ending your day.
While we have had a case by case system for many years we feel it is time to institute a comprehensive "Crash and Breakdown" policy.
If you crash prior to lunch or your trusty steed breaks down and is considered to be unrepairable you will be eligible for a 50% credit of that day's event and full credit for subsequent "same event" days to be used towards the purchase of a future event. It must be verified by the event director, and within 10 days of the event.
Post entry fees are not eligible for credit.
To be eligible you must be pre-registered, present at the event and your motorcycle must pass tech inspection the morning of the event.

    Risk Awareness
By signing up for a Sportbike Track Time event, you agree that Sportbike Track Time, its associates, sponsors, and the local facility cannot assume any responsibility for any aspect of your safety and that participating in any motorcycle track events, you do so voluntarily on your own assessment of your ability, the course, conditions, and facilities, and assume all risk.
You agree to release and hold Sportbike Track Time, its associates and sponsors harmless for any injury or loss to your person or property.
You understand that this is an inherently dangerous and life-risking activity and you will not hold Sportbike Track Time, its associates, sponsors, the local facility or any other person responsible for any injury or death resulting to yourself or your property at any event.
***You also agree that decisions made by Sportbike Track Time, its associates, and sponsors will be final.

 Very well spoken Richard. I appreciate you and all your staff for everything that ya'll do. My wife and I enjoy every track day and will continue to be customers as long as we ride the tracks. Once again thank you and your staff for a great experience each and every track day.

Richard you are a class act. I am glad to see that you took the time to respond to this personally. I have been on the credit receiving end and am VERY THANKFUL for STT's policy regarding crashes.

Lol hopefully I will be able finish off my crash credits before they expire next year since I was just informed I get to take at least another 3-6 months off after surgery next Tuesday on my collar bone. Sadly it failed and separated on me at Barber this weekend. Might have been the suction from Jason Disalvos bike as he passed me repeatedly after receiving the bump to Advanced:lmao:

Well that seems a little ridiculous for something I already apologized for (acting like a jerk). And also because I gave 15 days notice before the event so I'm pretty sure that by your policy, I am entitled to a credit. It's fine though, I already said that I disagree with your policies and for that reason I'm not coming back. A member on this forum spoke to me privately and acted like a gentleman about it. I appreciated that and accepted where I was wrong (hence why I stopped posting in here). So thank you to that individual for being a better person. Sorry again, I'm never coming back here again lol

Richard, huge thumbs up from me and the rest of the STT community. I can't believe this is the first I am reading of this thread, but the more I read the more I wanted to smack stevef in the mouth. We all know what org he rode with, and from experience, I know what experience he got. If he had started with STT he would not be riding strictly on street, but rather be balls deep into the phenomena that is STT. Stevef simmer down youngster, get a new credit card (so it doesn't tie you to this account) create a new profile (or not), buy a trackday in the spring to an STT event and bask in the glory that is a STT event. I have crashed plenty and have been taken care of very well by STT, even Richard himself was at the track I crashed at and personally took care of me.
